The Welterweight Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist debuted at Bushido 53 against Cesar Phromyothi who was also debuting. The fight did not last long at all as the official finish time was 1:06 into the fight. The fight started out with Barros attempting to touch gloves with Phromyothi as he came out swinging. Barros backed up and taunted him which only made him frustrated. Barros came foward throwing a couple of 1, 2 combos. phromyothi responded with a combo and Barros caught him in the double underhooks and moved him to the ropes. He then switched from underhooks to the muay thai plump and landed a devastating knee which winded Phromyothi, he then switched back to the underhooks and landed two more knees then slammed him to side mount. As soon as it hit the mat he locked up an arm triangle choke and squeezed until his opponent went unconcious. The crowd were in disbelief as they had just witnessed the potential submission of the night. After the fight Barros was asked about his performance, He replied confidently

"I knew as soon as got into the grappling the fight would be over quickly. That is what will happen to anyone who wants to go to the mat with me. I am here to finish fights and look good while I am doing it. That was only one minute of me, you don't want to go fifteen minutes with me"

Barros trains with some of the greatest fighters in the world at the Ninja Stars Gym and he can only get better as he gains more experience.
